Campervan conversion cost: what a UK build really adds up to
Most conversion budgets fail for the same reason: the figure is picked before the specification exists. These are the real numbers Skiddy uses when it prices a build — by van size, then category by category — so you can set a budget that survives contact with the van.
The short answer
For a UK self-build, expect roughly £3,000–£7,000 for a simple small-van camper, £6,000–£16,000 for a medium van such as a Transporter, Trafic or Vivaro, and £14,000–£30,000 for a large van with a fixed bed, washroom and a serious off-grid electrical system. Premium specifications on a Sprinter or Ducato reach £50,000. All of that sits on top of the cost of the vehicle.
