- Fit 25mm PIR to the floor between battens, taped at every joint.
- Pack cavities and ribs with sheep's wool — do not compress it; loft is what insulates.
- Close-cell foam tape every metal-to-timber contact to break thermal bridges.
- Apply a continuous vapour control layer, taped to itself and sealed at every penetration.
- Leave ventilation paths at the sills; never seal drainage channels.
